Screen Printing Machines And Their Working
We can create screen printing art from photographs and if we want to print the images in multi-color, again it would require color separation software, and a multi-color printing press. Other less expensive option is convert the photograph to a halftone image. These images are like those black and white images that you see in newspapers. Theses are made up of little dots of different sizes and this can be done using Adobe Photoshop.
Still another way to print a photograph is to use a high contrast photograph, and convert it to two colors. It is trickier to do and the photograph needs to have the right balance of dark and light shading, and then it stills requires a lot of experimentation to get it to look good.
While printing black and white photographs, it works best if you are printing white on a black shirt, or black on a white shirt. When printing white on a black shirt, you would initial print a positive image as the black parts are printed black. When printing black on a white shirt, you would need to print the image as a negative. The white parts print as black. These screen printing machines are pretty simple devices. The most basic screen printing machine for shirts holds a single screen so that it can be dropped down onto a printing surface holding a shirt, consistently in the same position time after time. It allows the mass production of printed shirts. The multi- color printing press is a little more complex.
This holds multiple screens on arms that revolve around a center axis. From each screen is set up with a different ink color. Very first screen is dropped onto the shirt, and a stroke is made laying the first color of ink on the shirt. Particularly that screen is lift, and the next screen is rotated into place, dropped, ink laid down for the second color. We may or may not be a drying step between screens, where the surface of the ink that was just laid down is dried using a flash dryer. And if you are going to be printing many t-shirts, we seriously recommend that you look at screen printing machines. The advantage of screen printing machines is that you can slide the t shirts onto the board and they will be positioned the same every time. And also when you drop the screen onto the shirt, the screen won’t move, giving you cleaner results. When the ink didn’t get good coverage, you can drop the screen back onto the shirt, and do another pass and have a shot of getting a good shirt. And if you have a loose screen, and don’t get good ink coverage, forget it. Exactly throw the shirt away. And then a screen printing machine will save you money on wasted shirts, and give you better results.
