Hawaii - archipelago in Pacific ocean - name paradise on the Earth that is fair. The generous Hawaiian sun suffices everything, including seven millions
tourists annually visiting these blest places. It is desired "occupation" as tourism brings in huge incomes to exotic staff. But even in paradise there are
troubles.
Last days the Hawaiian archipelago has absolutely unexpectedly appeared occupied by "tourists", the neighbourhood with which is intolerable. Interventionists
had appeared tiny "Thumberlina" (the size of less inch) - wood frogs. They are found basically in the western hemisphere. Their native land considers
(according to the American biologists) Puerto Rico. For this reason in the USA to them the name
"the Caribbean wood frogs" has stuck still. They and earlier from time to time visiting to Hawaii, but such mass invasion never happened. In 1998 of a
congestion of wood frogs have been noted on 11 islands of archipelago, and now - on all.
If uninvited visitors simply crept on trees, branches (and they are magnificent "spidermen" thanks to features of a structure of their pads) and on the sly
ate flies everyone there and other insects it is still fine. But they constantly make such noise by the "seasonal singing" from which pawns ears. This
phenomenal phenomenon. The wood frog in the size approximately in a 10-cheap coin possesses a mighty voice. Its capacity repeatedly amplifies throat
resonators. The sound which the male croaking on highest "note" invites a female, reaches 90 (!) decibels. Here it is passion! Noise about the same level is
made by a working lawn-mower. Now imagine, that simultaneously work ten thousand lawn-mowers, and at night...
The authorities of the State of Hawaii try to cope now with it state of emergency. Несусветный the noise
lifted thousand "Romeo" of the frog origin, annoys not only to local residents, it frightens off the potential tourists who have already heard about this
problem. And it is already very serious - money is lost.
And here - surprising news. Having listened to entreaties of the authorities of staff, the state Agency on protection of environment of the USA has allowed
to spray the Hawaiian administration in congestion places "infringers of an order" pure caffeine for mass "lulling to slip" (it would not be desirable to
write a "destruction" word) wood frogs. Such yet was not. The Ministry of Agriculture of the USA had to make in this case an exception of the law forbidding
similar measures for struggle from a different sort by wreckers.
Contact to the sprayed pure caffeine, on the conclusion of the American experts, leads to warm insufficiency. The agency on environment protection has
forbidden private persons, house owners use of pure caffeine, pollination of trees by it and plants for struggle against noisy wood frogs. To be engaged in
it the licensed professionals have the right only. The staff authorities are obliged to present to Agency of a copy of licences and the list of names of the
experts admitted to given work. Only after that scale antifrog operation will be developed on the Hawaiian Islands. And tiny croaker, feelings shouting from
an overabundance at the height of a love season, this substance will strike on the spot. Again the law of jungle, according to which most terrible for
animals - a meeting with the person will be confirmed...
Frogs, of course, it is a pity, though they do not allow to sleep to people at night. They not from harm, simply it is their way of life. But also paradise
should remain paradise. At least in one place on this restless planet.
Half of frogs comes from America.
Except for extreme polar areas, frogs are extended across all Earth, but they are most numerous in tropical America where lives about half of all kinds known
now.
As to frogs wood they live in Average America. Most ordinary of them - spotty tree frog - the small animal reaching only three-three and a half centimetre,
very brightly painted. Their dark skin is beautifully decorated by yellow, bright red and white strips, specks and strokes. The head has the pyramidal form,
a muzzle short, the forehead in the middle is pressed; a trunk narrow, densely fitted by a smooth skin, feet are poorly developed. On the ends of fingers
stickes small pillows. In a skin of this frog the set of poisonous glands is located; poison action very strong so natives use it for preparation of the
poisoned arrows.
