Laminate Flooring - a cheaper alternative to real wood flooring

Laminate Flooring

Laminate flooring was a popular choice for flooring up to the early nineties, it's popularity was so much that the country went mad for it due to it's cost affective result on the room.

The first laminate floors to arrive were not as straight forward to install as the current ones as they required glueing together were as now they have a click system so installation is straight forward and easy.

The popularity of laminate floors was so much that even popular high street stores began to stock it.

The first look of laminate flooring to take of was three strip, it needed finishing at the edges to tidy it up against the wall, this was generally done using beading.

It's another story now, laminate floors come in many different forms, from planked effects to bevelled and tiled boards and even waterproof laminate, Aquastep.

Aqua step laminate is a complete plastic which gives the board a waterproof property so it will not swell or chip when wet, making it ideal for bathrooms and kitchens.

All laminates now come with the click fit system which means that DIY installation is simple and straight forward with no need for expert fitting services.

A lot of people tend to go with a real wood flooring when they renovate their laminate floors but laminate floors are still a reasonable choice for many.
